Getting it done

We all know them.

We may not see them all the time but we know that they are there. And whether we admit it or not we need them to be. They are people who take care of things that wouldn't happen if they weren't there. Great leaders recognize their importance-those essential members of their team who simply get things done, quite often working behind the scenes. They are an invaluable part of the program.

At church, the services aren't quite as effective when the sound technician isn't behind the board, making sure that the microphone and speakers are working just right. Often the only time we are aware that someone is running the PowerPoint display for a worship service or a business conference is when it stops working or is out of order. Our praise and worship services might have less impact without these talented and specially gifted people.

It's the people that work, unnoticed that need the recognition from time to time. Take a moment to stop them and say think you for the work and time that they put in to make things work smoothly. Often they avoid the spotlight, mainly because they are running them, but stop them and say thanks. Their skills make you the best you can be. Never take them for granted. God appreciates those who do their work for Him without seeking glory from man.

Nothing you do, whether it is behind the scenes or not, is hidden from the sight of God. He wants us to approach every task we are asked to do as if we were doing it for Him. Don't fret over the world's perception and do what you do to get God's approval.

"Work with enthusiasm, as though you were working for the Lord rather than for people. Remember that the Lord will reward each one of us for the good we do." Ephesians 6:7-8
