Self-Esteem

So much of what we do as humans-so many of the mistakes we make and desires we have-flow from having very little self-esteem. It often begins to happen when we are young. Many of us wear masks, strive for unworthy goals, get into bad relationships, compromise our integrity, or just blend in with the crowd because deep down inside we're wounded and needy. We forget WHO we are: Children of God in the FAMILY of God!

One of the most important truths I want you to understand is this: You were created by God! You've probably heard that before-maybe so often that it has lost its meaning to you. So sit back and take a minute to let that last one sink in! You were created by GOD! Before you were ever born, He knew who you would be. You are designed with a unique combination of abilities, interests, and passions that has never been before and will never be seen in anyone again! He knows every detail of your life and carefully planned the way you were made to fit that plan to a tee!

Not only that, you were created for eternal impact. Your one-of-a-kind design was intended to last. He guards over your purpose and destiny. He is aware of all your needs, and He watches you even while you sleep, while you eat, and He even continues to watch over you when you stray and disobey!

Jesus told a crowd that God takes care even of the birds of the air and the lilies of the field. If He does that for them, how much more does He do that for you?

We are all an intentional part of His plan. We are family, and He is our Father; He designed us for incredible purposes.

If you allow that truth to sink into your heart-really become part of who you are at your core-then you will never have problems with low self-esteem. When we trust in this irrefutable truth of God, our hearts and minds will always be filled with a sense of self-worth that will enable us to know our purpose in life and fulfill it to its fullest!

"You made all the delicate, inner parts of my body and knit me together in my mother's womb...You saw me before I was born. Every day of my life was recorded in your book. Every moment was laid out before a single day had passed." Psalm 139:13, 16
