Little

God may call us to do some really big things in our lives, but being obedient to God in the little things, God calls us to do that everyday and it is critical. Too often we don't see the importance of the little details because they seem to be so unimportant or insignificant. Sometimes we are not sure that we can make them happen the way they were intended so we end up stopping short of completing them.

My son plays football. He loves it! I tell him all the time that in every football game there are crucial downs that determine whether you win or you lose the game. And the thing is that you don't know which ones they will be. Every single play you make could be game changing. It is the little things that you do that no one sees that matter in the end. It's the extra weight lifting and conditioning that you do alone that help make you run farther and longer. It's the extra time spent watching the film of your opponent that allow you to see the tendencies that open your eyes to new possibilities.

The little things that we fail to do or see - and the results end up less than what we had planned for. It is the little things that we fail to do that can make us come up short of where we wanted to end up. How many wins in our day to day lives do we miss because we failed to do the little things that would prepare us for them? How many races have we started to run but come up short of the finish because we just couldn't go any further?

God has a plan and purpose for each one of our lives. And people it is absolutely perfect. God's game plan is the best and if we have read His word we know that it is the only one that wins each and every time. We are all called to run the race to it's completion. We all called to strive for the yard markers in our lives. Run your race to the end. It is not about how you started your life it is all about how you finish. Don't pull up short. Press through the obstacles that come into you path. We all will face trying and seemingly endless times of pressure, stress, and worry but it is how we respond to these times that make the biggest difference.

God expects us all to do the little things in our lives well. Think about what "little thing" that you need to take care of today.
