God's Arms

"Jesus said to her, "I am the resurrection and the life. Whoever believes in me, though he die, yet shall he live, and everyone who lives and believes in me shall never die." John 11:25-26 ESV

It is a certainty that someday we will all die. There has been only one person that ever lived that has been able to come back from that and his name was Jesus Christ. None of us like to say good-bye to those whom we love. I don't care where this separation takes place, whether in a hospital or a cemetery, the separation is tough.

Guys, it is OK to shed a tear, it is OK to weep for those whom we lose. But the neat thing is that there is no need to despair. The one that we lost most likely was in a lot of pain here on earth. When they enter the presence of God there is no more pain. The struggle that they dealt with on earth is no longer theirs to deal with.

In my life when I have lost those that were close to me I have wondered at times why God chose them at this time to take them home. Then I remember that they don't give it a second thought. They understand the hows and whys of this and at this very moment they are at complete peace in the presence of God.

If you are a believer and you have a friend or family member that isn't, now is the time to present them with the good news of God's grace and unending love. Take time out of your day to pray for them, pray for God to open their heart to the Gospel, and plant the seed. You may never see the growth of this seed but if you plant it God will bless it and someone somewhere will reap it when it is time.

The next time you lose someone or know someone that has lost a loved one, take comfort in knowing that our loved ones are in the strong and capable arms of our Father in heaven. Then remember that one day we will be there also and the reunion will be better than any party we have ever been to during our time on earth.
