Hang on...

(I don't know who this might be for but I hope this helps you)

I don't know everything that you are into or everything that you have been through but one of these might be you...

  • You might be anxious about whether she really loves you or whether he will come home after the fight you had.
  •  You might be looking for a job or praying you don't lose the one you have.
  • You might feel inferior about the clothes that you have in your closet and feel like you can't come into His house because you don't look like everyone else.
  •  You might feel like you have to dress to impress all the time and feel like the ugly duckling on the inside.
  • You might have to walk everywhere you go or you might feel like you have to drive the nicest car so your friends will like you.
  • You might live like hell Monday through Saturday to fit in with the "crowd" you want to run with and then try to live like heaven on Sunday thinking it will make up for how you acted during the week.
  • You may live in fear because of the actions of others or you might be the one causing them to live in fear.
  • You might live with an addiction that you can't control and let me say this, addiction can cover a multitude of ills.
  • You may have a kid that thinks their parents just don't understand what you are going through
  •  You might be the parent worrying whether your kid will ever "get it" and start acting the way they ought to!

You might ask me, 'What does this mean to me' or 'How do I get out of this cycle?'

Let me give you something that might help show you where to start:

Go to His word....

"Therefore I tell you, do not be anxious about your life, what you will eat or what you will drink, nor about your body, what you will put on. Is life not more than food, and the body more than clothing? Look at the birds of the air: they neither sow nor reap nor gather into barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you you not of more value than they? And which of you by being anxious can add a single hour to his span of life? And why are you concerned about clothing? Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow: they neither toil nor spin, yet I tell you, even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these. But if God so clothes the grass of the field, which today is alive and tomorrow is thrown into the oven, will he not much more clothe you, O you of little faith? Therefore do not be anxious, saying, 'what shall we eat?' or 'what shall we wear?' For the Gentiles seek after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them all. But seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you. Therefore do not be anxious about tomorrow, for tomorrow will be anxious for itself. Sufficient for the day is its own trouble." Matthew 6:25-34 ESV

If you still don't understand let me break it down like this....

He says don't be anxious about your life. Don't worry about what you are going to eat or what you are going to drink or about your body. Life is more than food and the body is for more than clothes. Birds in the sky don't sow, they don't reap, but our Heavenly Father feeds them and gives them to instinct to find a warmer place to live. Flowers and grass can grow without our help...ever seen a wildflower growing on the side of the interstate?  Is anyone watering them  during the Alabama summers? Is anyone planting them every spring?

Life isn't for us to control or for us to carry all the burdens. We are not built to carry around stress and worry. We are built for the glory of God. That's why we give our lives to Him in the first place.  That is why he climbed the hill and put himself upon the cross. He did it for us to live in freedom, not the freedom to live the way we want to, its the freedom of knowing that if we humble ourselves and live Christ-like lives we are free from the burdens of this world. That is the way to really live a life without worry and stress.

If you are looking for a way out or looking for something to hang on to....Hang on to a real faith in a REAL Jesus. He won't ever let you down. He will always be there. He never moves. He is there waiting, with a hand open, ready to pick you up out of what ever hole you're in. That's why I gave my life to him, so I didn't have to do it alone...

Just hang on....
